Richard Hall

Founding Partner

Richard Hall founded the firm in 1984, building it from the ground up with a clear aim: to give people straight answers and strong representation when it matters most. His journey into law didn’t start in a courtroom — it started in a fire station in Chester.

While serving as a firefighter, Richard began supporting colleagues with workplace issues and was local secretary of the Fire Brigades Union (“FBU”) — and quickly developed a reputation for getting results. No fluff, no fuss — just sharp thinking, solid legal instincts and a clear sense of what was right. Word got out. And what began as backing up his FBU members into a full-time legal practice with a growing client base.

He quickly started representing unaided litigants in the Employment Tribunals and developed a formidable reputation.

Richard Hall & Partners was born from that energy — a firm rooted in practical advice and strategic action, for employees and employers alike.

Four decades on, Richard remains a leading figure in employment law, particularly in TUPE, restructures, and complex tribunal cases. Clients value his assertiveness, technical know-how, and ability to cut straight to the issues that matter.

Away from the legal world, Richard is a dedicated biker and an annual fixture at the Isle of Man TT races — a lifelong passion that still fuels his love for speed, skill and precision.
